Because of people’s increasing awareness regarding sports and healthy living, people knows that with inappropriate shoes and insole, injury may happen when doing exercise. Thus, manufacturer of shoes and shoe materials have to make more comfortable shoes and insoles for users in order to decrease the risk of injury and improve sports performance. Using sports science and human factors engineering, shoe materials and insole structure can be designed and improved to fit the needs of various people. Currently, there are many studies that used plantar pressure system, surface electromyography (EMG), three-dimensional motion analysis system, and force plate to study the effect that various types of insoles have on the bones and muscles of the lower limbs. Therefore, the purpose of this literature review is to discuss the design and biomechanical analysis of the functionality insole. |
