由於近幾年來國內在升學主義的影響下,學校教育均傾向填鴨式教學,學生不但課業負擔沈重且無法體驗學習的樂趣。在這樣一個升學環境下,令研究者懷疑學生對於學習科學的信心及對於科學的價值觀是否受到影響?因此本研究以「學生對於學習科學的信心」、「學生對於科學的價值觀」兩個面向,分析不同成就類型學生所擁有自信心及價值觀的高低。研究資料來源均取自TIMSS 2003的原始資料,研究對象為我國參與TIMSS 2003實測的八年級學生,研究結果如下:1.成就偏高的學生比成就偏低的對於科學學習的信心較高。2.成就偏高的學生比成就偏低的對於科學擁有較高的價值觀。3.成就偏低的學生普遍認同學理化對我的日常生活有幫助。4.成就偏高的學生在選擇未來職業時,不是很喜歡從事運用到理化的職業。
英文摘要
This study resulted from the spoon-feed teaching used to school education recently. Under such an environment of education, students not only bear a lot of schoolwork but also can't experience the enjoyment of study. For this reason I am interested that if students' self-confidence in learning science and students' valuing science would be influenced by this phenomenon. Therefore this study analyzed the database of TIMSS 2003 eighth-graders of Taiwan. At first, the performance of these students in TIMSS 2003 would be analyzed in comparison with their self-confidence in learning science. Secondly, their valuing science would also be analyzed. The findings are as followed: 1. High-performance students tend to have higher self-confidence in learning science in comparison with low-performance students. 2. High-performance students tend to have higher valuing science in comparison with low-performance students. 3. The eighth-grade students seemed to agree with the statement ”I think learning science will help me in my daily life”. 4. The eighth-grade students seemed to disagree with the statement ”I would like a jobthat involved using science”.
