This study surveys and analyzes the academic performance of business schools in Taiwan during 2002-2012 by overlapping UT Dallas and Financial Times 22 top journals. Most of articles have two or more authors, so the performance measurement is based on the number of papers and the weight scores. The overall performance of business schools in Taiwan shows that a slightly upward trend, but did not have a significant growth. We also find that all articles published in top journals mainly from top five business schools in Taiwan. In addition, we compared Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Singapore to know that what differences between them in the academic performance. The result shows that Hong Kong and Singapore includes the top five business school in these areas and their publication performance is higher than other schools significantly. The performance of business schools in China has been improved substantially in recent years. In contrast, the performance of business schools in Taiwan should be strengthened due to the average number of published papers is only 5.27 in top journals per year. Furthermore, we hope to encourage the potential of domestic scholars in business schools, thereby enabling further enhances the quality of research. |
