The purpose of this study was to understand influencing factors of supervisees on the counseling supervisory process perceived by supervisors. Focus group interviews were conducted with 13 supervisors in 3 groups. Content analysis revealed 12 factors. They are: (1) mental characteristics; (2) professional identity; (3) professional abilities; (4) understanding of personal professional needs; (5) understanding of supervision related concepts; (6) attitudes toward supervision, willingness to be supervised and motivation for professional growth; (7) attitudes to supervisors and expectations regarding supervisory style; (8) degree of openness; (9) degree of participation; (10) anxiety of being evaluated and ways of coping with it; (11) clients proposed by supervisees; (12) other factors. |
