The Improvement of Inappropriate Use of Textile in Medical Wards

本專案旨在降低布類品不當使用，本單位2006年在布品耗用量高於其他同質性單位，2007年2月1日~2月21日使用布類品臨床使用查核表進行查檢，發現不當使用布品數達139件（20.2%），主要原因：翻身及抬高肢體輔具不符合使用者期望、管理使用原則不完整、缺乏布類品說明衛教指引、缺乏查核機制。故本小組介入解決方法：（1）改良現有翻身輔具，製作抬高肢體輔具；（2）布品使用原則列入新進人員閱讀本及病房作業守則；（3）制定布類品使用衛教單張，於病人入院時介紹；（4）制定布類品查核機制。經改善措施介入後布品使用不正確率下降至1.7%，洗縫費用6-12月減少7,717.2元。此專案確實改善單位布類品不正確之使用及下降成本之支出。

This project is describing how to decrease the use of inappropriate textile. The consumption of textile in our unit was more than others in 2006. 139 cases (20.2%) of inappropriate use of clinical textile were found during 1st ~21st of February in 2007. The causes included 1) the turn over and lifting assistant devices were not consistent with patients’ requirement. 2) The content of textile management was incomplete 3) Complete explanation of how correctly use textile was not presented 4) Lack of textile control mechanism. The solutions included 1) The improvement of the turn over and body lifting assistant devices 2) Amend the content of textile management and include it in the sickroom working principle and new personnel’ booklet. 3) Design the flier of the principle usage of textile, list in introduction. 4) Design and implement the textile control mechanism. After the improvements, the inappropriate use of textile has decreased to 1.7%. The inappropriate use of textile has been successfully improved in this project.
