The aim of this proposal was to raise completion rate of pre-operative preparation for same-day admission patients, as motivated by protecting patients’ rights, and promoting and ensuring nursing quality. By examining pre-operative preparation for same-day admission patients, there were 81 incomplete items, at 79.42% completion rate. With analysis of the incompleteness, nursing staff found four factors that caused the problem. They were doctors’ late laboratory sheets, undelivered old charts and the lack of criteria of pre-operative preparation for same-day admission patients and hygienic leaflets. Therefore, this proposal was to provide suggestions focused on communication and coordination among nursing department, medical departments and medical record room, solving abnormal problems cooperatively, producing criteria and operation notice of pre-operative preparation for same-day admission patients. The completion rate has been raised from 79.42% to 100% after these suggestions were adopted. From the increasing 25.91%, this proposal does achieve its aim to improve pre-operative preparation for patients and raise its completion rate. |
