Professor Yung-Ho Ko started Taiwan’s psychological practice at Department of Psychiatry, Medical School, National Taiwan University in 1953. Through the efforts of professor Ko and psychological seniors, and the need of society, “Psychologist Act” was enforced on October 31, 2001; in which the name “clinical psychologist” and activities of clinical psychologists were identified, and clinical psychologists may have their psychological clinics. According to the statistics of Department of Health, Executive Yuan in October 2007, there are 715 clinical psychologists, and 569 clinical psychologists registered their professional records. This article describes the organizations, profession conditions, and the manpower of clinical psychologists. |
