Asides from the rapid growth of the patient number in recent years, disgracing AIDS patients is common. The initially diagnosed AIDS patient aged 45 years denied, shamed, feared after confirmed diagnosis, and had the extremely strained relation with his wife who knew about the disease. The principal nursing problems after the integrity assessment physically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually from January 14th to March 1st, 2008, were affirmed: knowledge deficit; body image disturbance; impaired social interaction. During nursing, the author: built the trust between the author and patient or patient family, besides the therapeutic relationship; assisted the case through the diseaseinduced psychological impact by care and stepped counseling; provided the psychological support in time; helped solve the problems. To lift the shadows of AIDS’ dark days and aid the patient’s brave active interaction with the family and friends, the nursing experience was to be conducive in promoting medical staff-offered psychological care of AIDS patients. |
