Decreased cardiac output (DCO) is a clinical condition in which the amount of blood ejection from the ventricle can not maintain adequate tissue perfusion. It is related to preload, afterload, cardiac contractility, heart rate, and heart structure. The clinical manifestations of DCO endanger patient’s life. It is a challenge for medical professional to deal with these manifestations. This article introduces DCO definition, related factors and results of DCO, clinical treatment, and nursing intervention. We hope this article can provide nursing professionals with knowledge about the nursing care of DCO patients. |
