英文摘要 |
Bed rest during pregnancy is a therapeutic method of tocolysis for preventing preterm birth. However, there has been continuous debate on the effectiveness of this remedy since 1980s. There was no sufficient evidence that long-time lying on bed might be associated with positive outcomes of high risk pregnancy. This article explored how bed rest was studied in biomedical, cultural, sociological, and feminism discourses. Through multi-dimensional perspectives, these arguments among different discourses were critically analyzed. The article provides maternity professionals an alternative way of thinking of clinical care for pregnant women. |
