People with borderline personality disorder were much troublesome between themselves and others. Recurrent self-damaging and suicidal behaviors were their characteristics. Few review articles have discussed about nursing care for borderline personality disorder. We reviewed management of selfmutilating behavior, manipulation, abandonment, and identity disturbance of the borderline personality disorder based on the analysis of diagnostic criteria, clinical symptoms, and treatment. We brought up some strategies to enhance the quality of life of patients with this disorder and lower societal and medical costs. |
