Staphylococcal scalded-skin syndrome is a fast spread and fetal disease. However, if the appropriate diagnosis and treatment can be applied, it is curable. In this case, the author, a primary nurse, applied both observation and interview methods in terms of Gordon’s functional health patterns to assess her patient. The results of nursing diagnosis were ineffective family therapeutic regimen management, impaired skin integrity, and caregiver role strain. Watson’s theory was applied as a guidance to assess the nursing problems and needs of the child and his family caregivers. Through the nursing process with well nurse-patient relationship, the patient revealed improvement in health situation. This nursing care experience can serve as a reference for health care providers and professionals in pediatric nursing. |
