The downward handle of road bikes not only could transfer the hand grip force of the rider, but also improve the hand stress by changing the grip location. Therefore, this study discussed the comfort of the hand grip position of downward handle. It first conducted morphological analysis on the product attribute elements, and conducted comfort experiment on the handle curve path, in order to confirm the effect of curve path on the grip comfort. It also conducted subjective questionnaire survey to measure the data, and experiments on the force impact area and comfort, in order to discuss the contact surface and received pressure of the handle in relation to the palm. Based on the result of the analysis of the experiment, we would be able to estimate the most appropriate handlebar size by using regression statistics quadratic function, and a new design handlebar can be created with Rapid Prototyping technology. The final experiment is executed to evaluate the comfort sensation on the new RP handlebar. The results showed that the new RP handlebar can obtain the optima contact area in the width of 5.38mm at up position and 4.02mm width at lateral side, but also eased the pain region. In addition, the pressured contact area of the redesigned handlebar is larger than the old ones, and has significant difference by using sign test method. According to the experiment data, the redesigned road bicycle handlebar is indeed better than the others, and increase holding comfortable sensation. |
