「設計風格」形成因素之研究

The Research of Forming Factors of the Design Styles

設計史的論述常將設計風格的產生，歸因於一個設計團體或一兩個設計奇才的貢獻，而忽略了整個時代背景、群體心理、甚至社、經狀況的影響。在這種傳統史學陳腐的歷史觀念指導下，派文斯納（W. Pevsner）也將設計主體侷限在現代主義道德式的敘述，更是羈絆了設計史主體的擴張，也對設計史學產生相當大的危機。 本研究以對「設計風格成因」多年的懷疑、思考、觀察為基礎，參酌年鑑學派等理論，再佐以「跨學科」史學研究、心理史學、心態史學、文化分析及其他不同思維等新角度切入，探究設計風格的成因，提出五項設計風格形成假說理論，分別為：1.「底層醞釀」說：如同馬克思所說的「下層結構」決定「上層結構」的說法，而「薛爾德雷克」現象也強化本節論述：即當群體心理增加到一定程度，此一醞釀中的風格會如「飛濺的火花」傳達出去，形成流行。2.「設計週期」說：人性中有喜新厭舊的「天性」，潛能中也具備著求新求變的特質。史上從未有過任何一個設計風格永遠駐足在文化舞台上，而總是「各領風騷五百年」。3.「設計社會學」說：社會經濟以及政治關係，對於設計有決定作用，設計只有透過社會心理這個環節，才能反映社會經濟和政治關係。4.「山崩鐘應」說：政經強權國家，其整體文化與其設計風格易於成為其他國家師法學習的對象。5.「時代精神」說：時代精神在先，設計形象在後；設計風格是對時代精神的思維，是時代精神的「載體」。 在「設計總體史」中，有關人類的心態和心理層面的歷史占據了非常重要的位置，也正是本研究所欲做的探索。根據研究結果，後現代風格將在本世紀初式微，並將出現新的風格，此風格首先會揚棄複雜性；繁雜的復古、拼貼形式將褪流行，雖然傾向簡潔，但不會再走向缺乏語意的路線。而數位潮流仍將繼續展現巨大的影響力，與簡潔風格結合為一種新的風尚。以上預測式的結論係從辯證論理而來，希望能對「設計風格史學」的研究開啟一條新的途徑。

This research is based on the long-termed doubts and ideas toward the forming factors of design styles and assisted with the theory of psychohistory. It provides six hypotheses by analyzing the forming factors of design styles from the angles of the 'Trans disciplinary Study'、'Psychohistory'、'History of Mentalities' and so on .These six hypotheses include 1） the theory of 'Incubation of Foundation', 2） the theory of 'Design Cycle', 3） the theory of 'Design Sociology', 4） the theory of 'Impact from Ancient Cultures', 5） the theory of 'Spirit of Times'. This thesis attempted to formulate predictions: The post-modern style will gradually disappear; the early 21st century will have a innovative design style, It maybe be a type of simplistic style, but emphasizing an emotion and meaning. And the trend of Digital style will still have huge influence. With this research, I wish to lead the study of 'the History of Design Styles' to a brand new future. In the history of Design, the research of mentalities and psychological aspect of human has occupied a very important field, and these are what would be analyzed here. According to the research, the predicted result comes from Dialectics and Logic, and hopefully to reveal a new way for the research of the history of design.
