Due to the rapid development of high technology, and the increasing spread of network, it is more convenient that people uses electronic greeting cards in New Year and special festival. However, when the user sends electronic greeting cards by network, the usability problems always happened due to the bad interface design of electronic card. Therefore this study used the methods of usability engineering to evaluate the usability of interface design for web's electronic card, and used the cognitive thinking model of human being to carry on further analysis. This study can be divided to be three parts. The first part is to choose three different websites with different operation processes from Internet. These three websites include Card Acer121 of Acer Internet Services (元碁電子卡中心), Ecard Silkera Net of New Silkera Network (新絲路電子賀卡中心) and Fortune Hypermart Net (一曲相思詩詞音樂賀卡). The second part is to evaluate the usability of website by the users. The users were required to write down the steps they needed to do, and then login the website to carry out the typical works. The operation performance was estimated according to user's operating procedure. The third part is inviting experts to evaluate the advantage and disadvantage of each testing electronic card website by using Delphi technique method. The results are summarized as follows. 1. The error percentage of Ecard Silkera Net is higher than that of the other sites by the novice users. If the users are experts, the Card Acer121 performed better than the other websites in operation, design preference and subjective satisfaction. 2. There is no difference in error percentage, operation, design preference and subjective satisfaction between the users who have and have not the experience of login electronic greeting card website and sending electronic greeting cards. 3. According to the analysis of error percentage in typical works, the single click would become the card preview in Ecard Silkera Net and Fortune Hypermart Net. Hence, suggesting the 'choosing card function' could be modified by making a frame on card, and give the card preview function in the black spot beside the card, then add the text interpretation. 4. The results showed that the users have very similar opinions to the necessary operation steps in using electronic greeting card. The first step 'enter the website of electronic greeting card', the second step 'the category of electronic greeting card」, the third step 'Select a electronic greeting card' and last step 'Send a electronic greeting card' are fitted to the steps of typical design used by electronic greeting card website. The percentage of choosing the 'mail paper' and 'stamp' is very low. It is suggested that those two items do not need to add in designing the electronic greeting card website. |
