A in-house design organization was adopted as a 'unit' for this research to study the activities of design projects in Taiwan's firms. The method of Grounded Theory and the idea of Context Analyses were combined to analyze case studies. Major conclusions are:(1)To formulate a design project is due to a yearly product plan, technology-push or marketing-pull.(2)Six types of design project organizations are found in case studies.(3)A two-axes map is proposed to analyze the design organizations, in order to understand the classification of project organizations and the involvement of project leaders. |
