民國50年代唱片封套設計研究

The Study of the Design of LP Sleeves in the 1960s

本研究以田野調查的方式蒐集資料，經過幾次尋訪之後，發現了正聲廣播公司檔案室內保存了約600餘張的舊唱片。但由於年代久遠，且經過歷次搬遷及幾次水患的影響，多數唱片封套已歷經歲月洗禮殘破不堪，經耗費一段時間整理完整度尚可的唱片封套，發現以民國50年代之後的唱片較完整且較具多樣性的面貌，故以此有效樣本計182件做為研究對象。本研究只是藉著這些研究樣本，做現象的探討，而不做推論的工作。此外，在蒐集資料過程中亦發現部份日文唱片、西洋唱片以及民國60年之後的「現代民歌」，但因與本研究的範圍不符故不予討論。本研究以三個方向來探討。方向一：樣本資料取得來源之分析與歸納。方向二：當時唱片封套設計所反映之設計訊息。方向三：透過這些唱片封套所呈現之社會背景與現象之研究。希望藉著上述之研究架構，能夠客觀地對民國50年代的唱片封套設計有較深入的了解。

Raw data of the present research has been collected through field investigation. After several interviews, we discovered there are about 600 LPs survived in the archive of Chengsheng Broadcasting Ltd. As it has been a long long time ago, and because of several moves and floods, most of the sleeves have been badly damaged. After spending some time to revive them, we discovered that the condition of sleeves of LPs released after the 1960s are better and the style is multiple. So the present research has been focused on 182 valid samples among them. Instead of making any inferences, we have only studied the phenomena of the design of the samples. In addition, during the collection of data, though we discovered some Japanese music LPs雪western music LPs and the 'modem folk song' LPs released since the 1970s, as they are not the subject of this research, we have discarded them. There are three directions in the present research. First, the analysis and induction of data sources; second, the messages of design reflected in the design of sleeves of that time; third, the study of the social background and phenomena presented in these sleeves. We hope that through the present research we can objectively access a profound understanding of design of the sleeves in the 1960s.
