Although the incidence of hypopharyngeal cancer is 2.6 per 10,000 patients in all diseases at the ENT department, it is very high (about 30%) in all ENT cancers. Hypopharyngeal cancers have been strongly associated with tobacco smoking and alcohol abuse, which is the cause of increasing prevalence including those patients among women and younger individuals of both sexes. Due to die tricky location of these ENT cancers, it is very difficult to intubate for anesthesia. In this case report, we will discuss the improved technique for intubation to decrease the complications for the day-surgery patients with ENT cancers. |
