The minimally invasive parathyroidectomy has been well developed, with a high cure-rate for primary hyperparathyroidism, because of the recent advances in the preoperative localization techniques. We herein report a case with an enlarged parathyroid gland correctly localized by a sestamibi scintigraphy and, thereafter, receiving a surgical extirpation under a small Incision (2.5 cm). The patient experienced small postoperative pain, an uneventful recover and an excellent cosmetic result. |
