Upon a mail survey sample of 1,208 handicapped workers in Taipei, the basic information about demographic and job characteristics as well as the correlates of work satisfaction is explored. Most respondents tend to be 20-40 years old who are high school or college graduates and enjoy a stable work career as technicians, professionals and administrative assistants. The respondents have positive evaluation on their job characteristics, especially on such aspects as cooperation, variety, and feedback. They have both above average work satisfaction and work dissatisfaction. The correlates of work satisfaction and work dissatisfaction include personal and environmental indicators. The conceptual framework and theoretical construction of work satisfaction and its correlates, as well as the policy and empirical services implications are discussed according to the findings. |
