In order to effectively help contestants examine their scores in golf competitions, we demonstrated assessing psychometric properties of their scores for LPGA Taiwan Championship 2012 in Taiwan on (1) whether each hole of setting par is appropriate, (2) whether 18 holes for a unidimensional test is of validation, and (3) whether KIDMAP is a self-assessing report card for individual contestants. We adopted Rasch analysis with Winsteps computer software to examine all of the 72 holes for the 75 golfers in the 4-day 4-round competition held in Taiwan from October 25 to 28 in 2012. The measurement of LPGA 2012 had a moderate reliability coefficient of 0.59 for all contestants. The contest for the Sunrise court in one day first round on 18 holes can be unidimensional. Each par hole setting for LPGA 2012 is appropriate. KIDMAP diagnosis can provide golfers with an objective and sufficient examination to identify their scores on 72 holes in a golf competition. A newly-innovated KIDMAP diagram of self-assessment might be an effective screening approach used for LPGA golfers in the future. |
