Abstract A mobile learning management system based on QR code is proposed in this study. The design concept is to use QR code owing the property of feasible access to achieve the mobile learning. In addition, teachers can analyze a user’s portfolio so as to understand and improve the learning effectiveness of the user. The system contains client-side and server-side subsystems. The functions of login, browsing, information upload, and QR code (encode/decode) are contained in the client-side subsystem. The server-side subsystem mainly contains the mobile learning management sub-system. The features of the system carry out the mobile learning for users by mobile devices and promote the learning effectiveness by the personalized and collaborative learning for users. After the system is implemented, the cultures of Wen Heng Dian in Jiangjyun District, Tainan City, are supported in the system for 30 users to learn. After the experiment, the following results are obtained: it comes with lower cost, higher efficiency and popularity by using QR code as the tool of mobile learning; the learners feel good for using mobile devices with QR Code in mobile learning; the learners feel good for learning the cultural archives with the system; the learners feel good for learning and understanding the cultural archives. Therefore, the system proposed in this study can indeed achieve the purpose for the mobile learning. |
