南臺科技大學的通識教師因為了解過去的通識課程不足以滿足學生的需求,再加上各大學的通識課程不斷推陳出新,更激勵負責通識教育的老師自九十七學年度開始進行通識課程改革,迄今已進入第四年。南臺通識教育課程之改革主要重點在課程規劃與教學設計的改變,務期通識教育之任課教師能參考課程規劃內容,依據個人的專業之知能,配合學生之資質實踐通識教育之目標:回應當代文明的危機與挑戰、培養博雅的人文素養、接受多元學術觀點與方法之薰陶。本文即是敘說這段改革的理論基礎及其重點,期望在繼續發展通識教育的過程中,留下一段過程的回顧與檢討,促進通識教育之發展。
英文摘要
As the teachers of the General Education Center of South Taiwan University of Technology understood that the general curriculum from the past could not comfortably meet students’ need and that other universities continued to seek new ways of doing things from old theories, they have been encouraging curriculum reformation and curriculum instruction design since 2008. It is hoped that curriculum reformation can be carried out in the use the curriculum and instruction design for general education by teachers in a professional manner, in harmony with students’ ability for the object of general education. In response to the crisis and challenge of the contemporary civilization, general education should be implemented to cultivate and refine aspects of humanity and to furnish a multitude of academic perspectives and methods. This article states the theory, the basis, and priority of reformation, with the expectation that moving on in the direction of professional education and with the efforts of educational specialists can encourage and promote the development of general education.
