老人智力功能研究之探討

An Investigation into Intellectual Functioning of Aging

本文乃透過實證研究文獻的檢視以探討老人的智力功能。資料蒐集分別從三個不同的研究取向進行，包括：（1）心理計量取向；（2）皮亞傑派取向；（3）訊息處理取向。雖然不同的研究方式對老人智力改變的時期與程度結論有所不同，但智能的退化似乎已是老人不爭的事實。縱然如此，從研究顯示，老人認知能力的增進仍然有相當大的空間。

This study explored intellectual functioning of aging by reviewing the available literatures of experimental studies. Datas collected from three approaches of intelligence research, both recent and old. included: (1) psychometric approach; (2) piagetian approach; (3) information processing approach. Though differents ways of study produce different conclusions about the timing and extent of age change in intelligence, the conclusion here is that decline in intellectual ability is clearly part of the aging picture. Despite this fact, it suggested there may be considerable room for improving cognitive compentence among the elderly.
