Purpose: This study employed the qualitative approach to reveal how 'grandmothers' experience their participation of walking, and further to allow the author and other readers who concern this issue to recognize another 'knowing' experience. Methods: In this study, the phenomenological methodology was taken to analyze different cases, and the in-depth interview was used as the primary instrument for data collection. Results: Through this research, three results were acquired. Conclusion: (1) health crisis, economic considerations, and family influence constitute the basic motivations for those interviewees to participate in walking; (2) environment, weather, and personal reasons are major constraints of their walking participation; and (3) the regular participation of walking might achieve certain great benefits in physiological, psychological, and economical aspects. |
