Economic analysis is an important issue in contemporary health care. Among all kinds of economic analyses, cost-utility analysis is the most widely used method. We introduce the key issue of this analysis - utility, including its concept, measurement, application, and limitations in this article, in order to help health care professionals understand and use this index properly, and make correct analysis and decision.
