As gifted and talented education (GATE) in Taiwan is celebrating its 40th anniversary, we are concerned about the later career development of the gifted and talented students. In this article, several typical cases were followed up to illustrate their efforts and achievements. Their stories evidenced the success of GATE in Taiwan. The cases include Pi-Hsien Chen (pianist), Po-Yin Yang (mathematician), Chung-Chieh Shan (computer scientist), Sheng-Hung Yen (biologist), Cheng-Hung Hu (ecologist), and Chung-Chieh Lo (neuroscientist). |
