End stage renal disease patients receiving long-term hemodialysis encounter the disease symptoms and post dialysis disequilibrium syndrome, causing physical distress, adaptation disorder, and resulting limited patients’ health function, social interaction, and then social isolation. This article addresses by social interaction theory and literature review to explore the status of social interaction in long-term hemodialysis recipients, and suggest the promoting social interaction strategy for hemodialysis recipients. The author expects to help clinical nurses reduce social isolation problems in hemodialysis patients. |
