Leadership and School Organizational Culture in Elementary Schools The purposes of this study were to understand current situations of distributed leadership and school organizational culture in elementary schools, to investigate the differences in distributed leadership and in school organizational culture based on different background variables, to discuss the relationships between distributed leadership and school organizational culture, and to forecast analysis of distributed leadership toward school organizational culture. The subjects of this study were public elementary school teachers in Taichung city. The instrument was "Questionnaire on A Study on the Relationship between Distributed Leadership and School Organizational Culture in elementary schools", and under formal testing, 555 valid samples were collected. Data analysis was conducted by the utilization of descriptive statistic, independentsamplest test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression a alysis. Important findings of the study were as followed: 1.Elementary school teachers' perception of distributed leadership is above average. 2. Elementary school teachers' perception of school organizational culture are above average. 3. Among diverse academic backgrounds, types of position, sizes of the school, elementary school teachers' perceptions of distributed leadership is significantly different. 4. Among diverse ages, types of position, sizes of school, elementary school teachers' perceptions of school organizational culture are significantly different. 5. Distributed leadership is positively related to school organizational culture in elementary schools. 6. Of diverse levels, distributed leadership performs differently as a whole and as a segment in school organizational culture. 7. Distributed leadership can effectively forecast school organizational culture. |
