This study proposes a framework of knowledge management and two perspectives of cooperation and competition, which are the contrary and separate perspective. Based on this framework and the two perspectives, this paper develops some hypotheses to explore the impact of cooperative strategy and competitive strategy on the capabilities, performance and locus of knowledge management. The findings suggest that the cooperative strategy creates knowledge more effective than the competitive strategy.. However, in the separate perspective, competition can also facilitate knowledge management and improve the performance, which implies the co-opetitive strategy leads to the best performance of knowledge management performance. Some suggestions are offered for the future research and practice. |
