This manuscript examines the legal regulation of advertising, with a focus upon false, misleading, and deceptive advertisement in two nations: Taiwan and the United States. It does so upon a comparison and contrast basis. While both countries are advanced industrialized democracies, they differ significantly in their geographic location, history, religion, legal system, culture, etc. Such differences logically could lead one to expect very different regulatory systems. Surprisingly, they share much in their approach to protecting consumers from deceptive advertising campaigns. |
