The Status and Rights of Women in Ancient Egypt

台埃及的女性社會地位時常是跟她的父親、兄弟、丈夫或是兒子緊緊相連。在古埃及關於女性生活的記載非常少，通常都是藉由這些男性家屬留下的文件、墓穴和雕像等等，才得成對她們的生活一窺究竟。本文首先將從法律和經濟方向來探討古埃及女性的地位，再者，在把重點放置於她們在婚姻和家庭中所扮演的角色；以及她們教育程度和職業範圍等等。最後，將列出古埃及歷史上一些有名的女國王和皇后，一一介紹她們對於古埃及的影響力和貢獻。

The social status of the women in Ancient Egypt were certainly connected with their father, brother, husband or son. We have few documents which recorded about the life of Ancient Egyptian women, usually we know about them from some documents, tombs or statues which have been made by the masculine member of their families. This article will discuss the status of women in Ancient Egypt at first form juridical and economical perspective. Then their role as part of the family and the marriage will be researched. In addition, their education and which professions they are competent for. Finally, some examples from the history of ancient Egypt, namely famous female pharaoh or queen will be mentioned, and their influence.
