歷時層累:曲江南華寺的六祖惠能真身

Historical Layers of Accretion: Real Body of Zen Master Huineng at Nanhua Temple of Qujiang

禪宗六祖惠能真身是方辯法師在乾屍基礎上用「夾苧法」製成的。一千三百年來，六祖真身經歷了一次斷首、兩次斷指、三次剖腹和火災、兵劫、戰亂，經過南華寺僧人多次修復，除了面目以外，已經有了相當大的變化，應當把它看成歷時層累的結果。

The real body of Zen Master Huineng was made by Master Fan Bias on the basis of his mummy using the ”Zhu” method. For more than 1300 years, the true body of Zen Master Huineng has endured cut of head once, cut of fingers twice, and cut of abdominal part for three times as well as fire, riots and wars. After recovery for several times by monks at Nanhua Temple, and there has been a great change except his face, so it should be regarded as the result from historical layers of accretion.
