Faculty governance, although a fairly widespread phenomenon in American higher education by now, still sparks controversy among many in the academy. Although opinions regarding faculty governance may vary, many in the academy would agree that faculty governance has become inextricably intertwined with academic freedom and the politics of academy. By presenting cases of faculty senate, t his article aims to explore the critical role of committees in American Education Governance and how it contribute to the practice of shared governance and faculty governance. |
