The purpose of this article is to introduce the social model of disability. First， I concentrate on identifying the background of this social model. Second， I analyze its distinctive arguments， as contrasted with the medical model. Finally， I explore the critiques and recently revised ideas of the model. Some implications for special education within it are suggested. |
