This article delves into the abandonment of an unfinished attempt, questioning the adequacy of existing theories such as crime plan theory, overall observation theory, and individual action theory in establishing a unitary attempt event that supports the possibility of abandoning an unfinished attempt. By applying the risk exportation theory, the author contends that the essence of abandonment lies in either discontinuing progress toward the commission of a crime or refraining from initiating a new criminal act. From this perspective, the concept of abandoning an unfinished attempt appears logically unnecessary. |
