期刊連結：http://www.gouthyperuricemia.com Objective To explore the relationship between the polymorphism of +2044 C/T in the fourth exon of IL-13 (Interleu-kin-13, rs20541) and primary gout in Chinese male population. Methods A total of 281 gout patients and 267 controls were enrolled. The possible association between the polymorphism of IL-13 +2044C/T and gout was investigated and genotype frequencies and allelic frequencies were calculated by real-time PCR (Real-time polymerase chain reaction) with Taqman probe method. An association analysis was carried out using the χ2 test. A genotype–phenotype analysis was also conducted. Results The frequencies of CC, CT and TT genotypes were 82, 146 and 53 (29.2%, 52.0%and 18.9%), respectively among gout patients, while they were 92, 127 and 48 (34.5%, 47.6%and 18.0%), respectively among the controls. There was no statistical difference in IL-13 +2044C/T genotype frequencies between gout patients and controls (χ2=1.79, P>0.05). The allele frequencies of C and T in gout cases were different from those in the controls (55.2%, 44.8%; 58.2%, 41.8%) but did not reach statistical significance (χ2=1.06, P>0.05). Conclusion The result of our study suggests that the polymorphism of IL-13 +2044C/T is not associated with gout in Chinese male population and IL-13 might not be associated with increased tissue infiltration and inflammation in gout. |
