中文摘要 | This article examines the history of the legal education exchange between China and the United States, focusing on the different roles of actors and different goals that motivated exchanges at different times since the 1980s. Based on this historical review, the author analyzes three topics: (1) the impact of American legal education on Chinese legal education, both institutionally and pedagogically, (2) common issues faced by the two countries, and (3) new trends regarding collaboration between legal educators in the era of globalization. The author argues that as many of today’s problems are not confined to national borders and connot be solved by individual governments in the context of globalization, persons with legal training, international capacity, and global vision play important roles in resolving such problems. It is indisputable that the collaboration of Sino-U.S. legal professionals and legal educators is also increasingly critical, not only to development of the two countries but also to the world. |
