Improving surgical safety is a crucial policy of “Hospital Patient Safety Annual Goals”. Wan Fang Hospital has advanced this initiative by establishing an Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) integrated care team, developing guidelines for surgical care and procedures based on references, and conducting regular reviews through the Clinical Pathway Committee. From 2020 to 2023, surgical patients under the ERAS integrated care showed continuous improvements in average length of stay, postoperative ambulation time, postoperative intake time, and extubation time. These enhancements contribute to improving the quality of surgical care, promoting effective utilization of healthcare resources, and advancing towards value-based healthcare.
