Recent years have seen a continual rise in the prevalence of degenerative joint diseases in Taiwan, where arthroplasty has become the most common method for treating end-stage joint degeneration. In addition to orthopedic surgery, satisfactory arthroplasty requires satisfactory preoperative assessment, health education, postoperative care, pain relief, and rehabilitation, all of which rely on interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare professionals. Assembling a team of professionals across different disciplines is a challenging task. Therefore, Joint Commission of Taiwan has developed the joint replacement care certification to provide a set of clear guidelines and standards for arthroplasty. Integration of interdisciplinary teams should be prioritized to ensure efficient collaboration and substantially improve the overall healthcare quality.
