This paper intends to clarify the meaning and nature of the force of education, and, in addition, to analyze related concepts and problems. Based on the understanding of the concept of force in physics, this paper claims that the force o f education, derived from the educational context and activities, is a kind of dynamic power to change the status-quo of forms and contents of education. Vaule-laden, instrumentality and integration as three main characteristics of the force of education are mentioned and discussed in this paper, which lead to the emphasis on the effects of the force of education to improve personal development and social progress. The categories, sources, indicators and measurement of the force of education are also discussed. Finally, this paper presents a proposal for educators to build an indicator system of the force of education and open a new window for educational development and reforms. |
