This paper was aimed to investigate the effects of“Textbook Live Show”, a drama performance in freshman Chinese class, on students' learning and the possibilities of multidimensional learning and development. The participants were freshmen and data were plays adapted from freshmen Chinese textbooks and drama performance. There were two research questions: 1. Did the participants understand texts better through drama performance? 2. What other aspects did students learn besides drama performance and Chinese lessons? The results showed that the participants held positive attitudes toward“Textbook Live Show”, because the performance made Chinese classes enriching and interesting, helping them understand the meaning of the text better, and improve their communication skills and interpersonal relations, etc. Based on the results, the researcher also made reflections and suggestions on the activity design of “Textbook Live Show.” |
