This study explores how contemporary context affects the printed content of Folklore Taiwan, a magazine published during the Japanese colonial period. By analyzing the political atmosphere, social culture and the development of printing technology at that time, the magazine's choices in content presentation and printing technology were discussed. This study uses content analysis and document analysis to understand the printing technology of ''Folklore Taiwan'' and analyze the printing content of local magazines in Taiwan, so as to understand the historical and cultural waves and summarize the epitome of the era of the target magazine. The main purpose of the research is to explore whether the contemporary background and printed content form of ''Folklore Taiwan'' at the time of its release were affected by contemporary background factors. ''Folklore Taiwan'' is a publication whose purpose is to preserve Taiwan's folk culture. Its printing style, paper selection and even advertising content all reflect the characteristics and challenges of the times under Japanese rule. This study aims to reveal the close connection between historical context and magazine publication, and to evaluate the significance of ''Folklore Taiwan'' in the preservation of Taiwanese culture. In addition, the differences between different reprinted versions and the current status of ''Folklore Taiwan'' after digitization are also compared. |
