This year is the sixth year of the implementation of 'core competencies' curriculum reform of 1-12 national basic education in Taiwan, however, there is very few academic paper emphasis theory and practice of curriculum integration of core competencies. Therefore, under the curriculum reform context of the 1-12 national basic education in Taiwan, this paper aims to argue the importance of the curriculum integration of core competencies, and also argue the importance of theory and practice of core competencies curriculum integration. This paper aims to examine, from a curriculum studies perspective, the significance of core competencies curriculum integration in curriculum design. In particular, the author articulates the importance of theory and practice of curriculum integration regarding single-domain/subject curriculum integration approach in schools. |
