Medical systems are the largest source of carbon emissions, however energy conservation and carbon reduction are difficult tasks for hospitals. In the future, hospital evaluations will be paperless, requiring the development of smart medical care emphasizing risk management and information security protection. How can medical care in the post-epidemic era implement ESG(Environmental, Social, Governance) strategies to respond to rapid economic and environmental changes while achieving sustainable development? The dual-axis transformation of finance and digital net-zero technology driven by net-zero carbon emissions is the biggest challenge facing medical institutions. To meet this challenge, we can start with environmental, societal, and governance goals, and integrate ESG into the organizational DNA through digitalization, automated ESG management, while implementing good data management practices and carbon rights trading. The fiscal constraints of promoting net-zero carbon emissions and the technological challenges of digital net-zero dual-axis transformation are the biggest challenges facing healthcare institutions. This article will discuss three main issues: 1) the challenges of transforming medical institutions from traditional to sustainable practices; 2) how to promote ESG to formulate sustainable medical management strategies and cultivate environmental practices; and 3) sharing successful cases of digital net-zero dualaxis transformation of medical institutions. Implementing value-based integrated medical care, exploring innovative business opportunities from sustainable practices, promoting a circular economy to create a win-win situation for both the economy and environment, and transferring paradigms to internalize energy conservation and carbon reduction into the culture of medical institutions are essential to enable medical systems to continue operation. Resilience, transformation, upgrading and sustainable development are essential responses to the rapid changes in the environment.
