Detecting Improvements of Upper Extremity Motor Coordination Using a Wearable Device for Stroke

本研究目標在於運用加速規找到簡單且易於解讀的評估方式，針對輕度中風病患進行動作路徑圖量測。量測一位50歲的男性中風病患的動作：1.健側上肢；2.中風後四個月患側上肢；3.中風後六個月患側上肢。由路徑圖得知，中風後六個月動作路徑圖已進展至接近健側上肢的程度。同時，病患的中風衝擊量表進展至75分，並且對於日常生活品質感到更為滿意。加速規是一項簡易的工具可用以驗證上肢動作協調度。未來研究可應用於更大量的輕度中風病患，提供臨床治療人員一項簡易、低價位，並提供客觀的評估驗證。

This study aims to find a simple and easily interpretable approach to measure motor coordination using an accelerometer for stroke patients with minimal functional damage. We measured upper extremity for a 50-year-old male stroke patient--unaffected side upper extremity, affected upper extremity four months post stroke, and affected upper extremity six months post stroke. It can be seen that the trend of path map of affected side after stroke six-month has progressed to the extent of unaffected side. He also improved 75 points in SIS and got much satisfied with his quality of life. Accelerometer is a simple and easy tool to verify motor coordination. Future research can focus on applying to lots number of stroke patients with mild functional damage and providing objective measurement.
