In the past few decades, people have become more aware of changing climate with unpredictable seasons, along with flooding, forest fires, draughts, and other events. There is little doubt that climate change is perhaps the biggest challenge that humankind is facing. Even though its impact on human survival is increasingly being recognized, policy has not kept pace with public opinion, much less any real action to deal with its impact on health, including mental health. Policymakers often do make occasional acknowledgment and nods toward the effect but without any assertive action to deal with both climate change and its impact on population health and well-being. |
