Taiwanese artist Wang Te Yu developed series of sculptures, conceptual arts and spatial installation works, based on her sculpture major background in Taipei National University of the Arts. Since her first work, No. 1, represented at 1992 when Wang is still studied in the academy, she started to adopt numbers as the title of her works. From early 1990s to now, Wang Te Yu has been created more than hundred works during last 3 decades. This thesis tries to analysis the works and the artistic experiences of Wang: Through evaluates the development of forms and concepts of her works, to rethink the achievement which Wang reached at the area of 3-dimentional works, spatial installation and conceptual arts. The thesis genealogicalized Wang’s artistic experiences, and evokes the main issues among her works, for discuss the interactions between artist and the art scene during different stages of her career. The research works of this thesis also aims to the evidences, which proof the uniqueness of Wang Te Yu’s works in the field of Taiwanese and Asian contemporary art. |
