Acquired Factor XIII (FXIII) deficiency is a rare, potentially life-threatening bleeding disorder that may be associated with autoimmune diseases, malignancies, medications, recent surgeries, and liver diseases. This case describes a 45-year-old female who initially presented with a left-sided pelvic hematoma. After multiple examinations, she was diagnosed with FXIII deficiency, which was caused by systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). This case highlights the diverse clinical manifestations of SLE, particularly the rare trigger of bleeding due to decreased clotting factors. It also discusses the importance of balancing disease control and fertility preservation during treatment, especially in women of reproductive age, emphasizing the significance of early diagnosis and individualized treatment in improving prognosis. |
