Finding efficient hydrogen production methods is an important aspect of developing green and sustainable energy. In this report, we will take the example of the transition metal oxide LiNiO2 to elucidate how the chemical processes of the Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) can be understood through concepts such as electronic quantum structure. We discovered that LiNiO2 exhibits a dual-coupled oxidation state of, where the oxidation state plays a critical role in driving the OER chemical processes. |
